Edwin is the 6th child of 9, and is starting his last year of primary school in January 2007. He is really looking forward to moving on to High School in 2008, and to be the first in his family to do so. He would also be a great role model for his younger brother George, who he hangs out with most of the time, and who he looks out for on the streets of Nairobi at night when they sell peanuts together. He makes sure they take the safe, albeit longer, route home at night, that goes through the downtown area and not through the residential part of the city, so that him and his brother are not vulnerable to bandit attacks. As you can see in George's profile, Edwin's father died in 1997, and Edwin and his older brother were left to be the male heads of household, a tough task at such a young age! Edwin dreams of becoming a doctor one day. He let slip that he would choose surgery if given the opportunity. Edwin is a smart and responsible boy, with hope and mischief in his eyes. With your help, he would definitely soar, given his already high grades and potential for acceptance into a strong high school.
