Philip grew up in the small town of Lokori, in northern Kenya, and lost his parents and siblings to HIV/AIDS related illnesses many years ago. Since then, he has been assisted and watched over by his uncle Echuchuka who can unfortunately no longer afford his school fees. Philip has 1 more year left of High School, beginning in January 2007, and would very much like to finish his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in order to pursue University studies the following year. He currently dreams of becoming an accountant, however, when I asked him, he was shy to share his dream. Philip is a shy, quiet boy who I'm sure has been through more than most in his life. Your help will make Philip's previous 3 years of secondary education worth the time and investment on Echuchuka's and his own part, and would give Philip the chance to continue on to higher education. It would assure this boy hope for a more positive future. As of now, his favourite thing to do when he's out of school is play football on his local team, and beat the neighbouring village teams!
